Joe Wood
This is a big one for me. This last summer I had the honor of hosting, promoting and producing a small live show for one of my all time favorite Artists – Joe Wood – Joe of course is / was the lead singer for the 80’s Punk / Rock and Roll band TSOL – he was the man behind the albums” “Change Today / Revenge / Hit and Run / Strangelove / TSOL – LIVE. He of course has an earlier punk history pre TSOL and then many great songs Post TSOL as Joe Wood and the Lonely Ones and now tours as “Change Today” – Safe to say that undoubtedly TSOL – “Revenge” album is the background to my Youth – I have worn that record out 10x over!! I consider Joe Wood to be one of the greatest Singer Songwriters of all time!! This was an absolute honor!! As a bonus my youngest daughter Jaylen and I co-designed a Limited Lithograph and Tshirt for Change Today – (you can see it in the store on the ebay link) we have a few left – this is a mash up of old TSOL Strangelove album art with other TSOL and Joe Wood imagery combined!! Just totally Rad shit!!

The early years, one of my first Assistant Prop Master jobs on a movie filmed in Portland Oregon starring Corbin Bernson and Shelly Long (look em up kids) I was living in LA but took the job as a local for the opportunity, I slept in my car for the first 4 weeks during filming and showered in the public water park – until the lead PA took me in and gave me a couch.

Growing up in the 80’s punk rock scene the Butthole Surfers were a fav on rotation!! Gibby cameo’d on the movie Dead Man and let’s just say it wasn’t by accident that I wore my butthole surfers hat that day!!

Come on – Brian “Head” Welch / KORN – Brian and I go way back to before KORN – he played lead guitars on one of my best friends album before Korn, they were nobodys’ by society’s standards in Bakersfield – Surprised my girls with a secret sushi dinner and VIP pass to the show!! How we do it!!
HR – Legendary!!
The one and only HR from Bad Brains, spent about 5 hours with him in the hotel after watching and recording the show live at berbatis pan in Porltand. Grew up slamming out to Bad Brains and then to have the op to get insight into his views on punk rock and personal identity was flat out amazing!!

Ok all you 80’s babies remember the legendary line “what chew talking bout Willis!!” from the beloved show Arnold starring Gary Coleman and Todd Bridges – this is Todd’s older brother Jim and he was my neighbor in North Hollywood for a few years, he was a pro bowler and had a nice career in film as well. He prop assisted for me on a few projects on his down time.

Me and the man Johnny Depp – I had the privilege and honor of working side by side with Johnny on the Indy film Dead Man for about 4 months. It was hands down one of the most amazing creative experiences ever!! In this photo he is wearing my first little beanie hat design I made – “Positive Vibes”

Pretty much anyone who wrestled in the 80’s knew of the Schultz brothers, especially if you wrestled in Southern Oregon. When Dave got murdered by John DuPont it shook the wrestling world, we were honored to have Mark stop by our practice and drop some knowledge on the boys.

18 years old in 1988, my very first movie production ever!! It was called Martial Marshall and I was an electrical trainee – I instantly knew “The Biz” was for me!!

The legends of Nardcore were on tour and stopped in the studio to grab some sleep and skate the half pipe. Larry White the self-professed “nardcore drum slut” is a hardcore bro of mine and took me in and taught me up in Hollywood. Some serious legends in this photo!!

70’s legend!! Did you grow up on “CHiPs” the 70’s cop show about two motorcycle cops in Los Angeles……. well I did and loved every damn episode as a young boy. Then 20 years later prop mastered a movie and got to work with Sgt. Getraer.
Ron Emory – TSOL
Ron Emory – TSOL wow this was a milestone moment for me, although the album does not feature the original singer Jack, the TSOL REVENGE album is still my absolute favorite album. I was able to interview Ron for the Pioneers of Punk project – it was like walking down the history of punk rock and life perspective in general, Ron is such an amazing guy!!
Soto
Steve Soto bass player for the legendary punk band the Adolescents, this house where I interviewed him is the same house that his mom still lives in and same garage where the legendary song “bloodstains” from Agent Orange was written and quite a bit of the “blue” album!!
Stern
The documentary “Another State of Mind” that Shawn Stern and BYO – “Better Youth Organization” was undoubtedly one a few things that impacted my very young life in the 80’s and cemented my sense for the DIY work ethic and my Punk Rock ethos – Shawn is the founder, creator and master mind behind that project that chronicled a DIY punk rock tour in 82 or 83 ish with his band Youth Brigade and Social Distortion – I interviewed him for my own Punk Rock Doc – Pioneers of Punk

The cat on the far left is my ultimate homeboy Merrill Ward – Merrill sang for SWA an early early original act on the seminal Punk Rock label SST Records that everyone knows for being the home of Black Flag – the cat in the middle is the legendary Mike Watt from the Minutemen another epic punk rock band!! We just watched him finish a solo set!!
White Porter
Larry White a chance encounter that turned into a life long friendship, Larry was a big brother and mentor to me in Hollywood in the Set Construction side of the industry, he taught me how to be rad, coincidentally larry also drummed for some of my most favorite punk bands – like Aggression!! Larry later ended up being on my Indy Label Mental Records with a band called GG ELVIS. The gal on my right is Becca Porter legendary scenester from the BYO / Hollywood punk rock scene and was also captured in Another State of Mind – I met her years later when I was booking my own Punk Rock shows and she booked for BYO records!! Cosmic!!
Wiles
– Jason Wiles, he was a young kid from Missouri who moved out to LA to become an actor, I met Jason on the set of an ABC after school special that I was prop mastering. He had a wrestling background – so did I – immediate respect and camaraderie.
Wojo
Wojciehowicz or “Wojo” from the legendary 70’s TV show “Barney Miller” – Max Gail is his real name, I set dressed a show in the 90’s called Somebodys Daughter that Max starred in – show here rockin a Dinosaur Jr. shirt and of course I have my staple Cure shirt on – working rock shirts before rock shirts were cool.

Ok two of my most influential things in my young life – REPO MAN and the Circle Jerks!! Well I got to meet and hang out with Zander Schloss all night at a CJ show- Fucking Epic!!
James and John
